Thirty Years

Funny thing about reunions; 30 years later you realize that even the 'cool' kids are normal.

I recently went to my 30 year high school reunion.  I had skipped my 20 year because, well, there was just too much going on in my life at that time to even think about going and 'putting on the brave face'.

So here we are 30 years later and all of us have endured different struggles and growing pains.  We are all maturing gracefully (or kicking and screaming), but we are maturing.  In the last 30 years some have celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary and some are just getting started.  Some are celebrating the end of a difficult time in their life, while others are happily enjoying their single life.

Some have endured greater hardships then others but all have endured and we are all there to celebrate.  We celebrate a time in our life that was the end of one life and the start of  another.

There are times when the friendships created in high school last a life time and there are times that as we each evolve and change, those friendships change as well.  In some cases, those that we had nothing in common with in high school are now someone we share a lot with and a new friendship is forged.

There's so much to learn from a reunion and with every ending there is a new beginning
