Dead End

I was talking to someone recently and somehow we got on the subject of a Dead End sign they had.  They wanted it gone, out of their yard, didn’t like seeing it! It reminded them of the past and I assume so many dead ends that they had come to in their life. At the time I thought  ‘ok, but it’s just a sign.  Later I started to think about it a little more.

We have been fortunate to have traveled all over this beautiful country we live it.  As truck drivers we saw many signs; elk crossing, deer crossing, tank crossing (yes, lol), CLOSED weigh station signs (my favorite) highway signs etc. All those signs I just mentioned remind me of the roads we have traveled and how fortunate we were to have traveled them.

For this person the DEAD END sign reminded them of all the negative things that had happened in their life. In thinking about that sign it occurred to me, it doesn’t have to represent the END, it can represent the BEGINNING.  The beginning of a new path, a new road a new destination in life.  Your perspective changes EVERYTHING.

So the next time you look at a sign, think about it for a moment and remember; that sign is either leading you where you need to go or reminding you of where you’ve been and how much you’ve overcome.
