Cranberry Juice

I have seen so many posts for cranberry juice so I decided to try my hand at making some for myself.

I must say, I was extremely impressed with how it came out. It doesn’t taste exactly like what is in the store; I think it tastes better.

There are two ways that I tried.

Option 1: add ingredients to jar, then water bath

Option 2: add ingredients to a pot, simmer for 40 minutes, add to jars and water bath. (if juice is hot when you fill jars, then the jars need to be hot).

I tried my hand at cranberry / orange and cranberry / apple and cranberry / raspberry.. All of them taste amazing!

Recipes:

Option 1 - ready to drink in 4-6 weeks

Add 6 oz cranberries and half a cup of sugar to a quart jar, top with water, water bath for 25 minutes.

Option 2 - ready to drink immediately

Using same measurements as option 1 but add all ingredients to a pot and simmer to release all the juice from the cranberries and other fruit. Add to jars and water bath for 15 minutes.

I prefer the simmer method and I allow the juice to cool for a bit prior to adding to half gallon jars.

Optional items - to spice things up you can add in some cinnamon sticks and cloves
